Self-Sufficiency

September 6, 2010

I took the boys to my-mother-in-law’s to get out of dodge for the weekend while Ken painted the house.

While there, after Eric went to sleep for the night, we discovered the guest toilet wasn’t working properly.  I taped it shut and left lights on so Eric could find his way to the working bathroom if nature called during the night.  Still, I worried that he wouldn’t  find his way to a place to “go.”  I needn’t have worried.  Read on.

At 2:17 AM I awakened to see his little face peering directly into mine.  Stark naked from the waist down, he  held out his jammie bottoms and pull up.

“Did you go potty?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said.

“Where did you go?”

This little guy will always find a way to accomplish the goal.

As though it were the only place to go when one finds the toilet lid taped shut at 2:16 AM he replied simply, “The floor.”

HaHa! That is so funny… Well, at least it wasn’t somewhere else like a closet or something.
